What is the coverage with Liaison International?
Post-departure trip interruption
This coverage provides reimbursement for non-refundable costs or deposits related to your trip if it is interrupted after it starts. This coverage provides up to $5,000 to reimburse related expenses.
Emergency Medical Assistance
This coverage provides emergency medical coverage if you become ill or are injured while traveling and need medical attention. This coverage provides up to $1,000,000 in emergency medical benefits when you are far from home (see policy details for specifics). Up to $20,000 in eligible medical expenses will be waived for pre-existing conditions (available only for U.S. citizens traveling outside the U.S. and Canada with the amount reduced for insured persons over 65).
Emergency Dental
This coverage provides emergency dental coverage to resolve acute, spontaneous and unexpected inception of pain to sound natural teeth up to a maximum of $100. This plan also provides coverage for treatment necessary to restore or replace sound natural teeth lost or damaged in a covered accident up to $500.
Emergency medical evacuation/repatriation
This coverage provides reimbursement for the cost to transport you or other covered members of your party to a medical facility to receive care. This coverage provides up to $300,000 for a covered injury or illness occurring during the covered trip. This coverage also provides coverage for repatriation or return of remains up to $50,000.
Emergency medical reunion
This coverage provides reimbursement for the cost of round-trip transportation for one individual selected by the insured to the locations where the injured is hospitalized. The payable expenses include the cost of economy-class air fare, reasonable travel and accommodation expenses (not to exceed $200/per day), not to exceed 10 days including travel and up to a maximum of $50,000.
Hospital Indemnity
Should the insured be hospitalized while traveling outside the United States or Canada, this coverage pays the costs related to the hospital room. Up to $150/per night stayed in the hospital is provided.
Return of minor child(ren)
This coverage provides assistance for adults traveling with minor children under the age of 19. If the guardian(s) is/are hospitalized for treatment of a covered illness or injury resulting in the minor children being left unattended for a period of time, the cost of one-way economy air or ground transportation will be provided to transport each covered child to the area of principal residence. If an attendant is necessary to ensure the safety and welfare of the minor child(ren), the company will arrange and pay for those services up to the maximum in the schedule of benefits.
Baggage and personal effects
This coverage provides reimbursement for lost, stolen, or damaged baggage and personal effects to a maximum of $50.00 per article and up to a maximum of $250.
