My name is Damian, and I started this website to help travelers understand travel insurance and find the best plan.
About me
I started this website when I discovered there were no good travel insurance resources online.
Most sites focused on presenting the policy information and providing quotes, but there was no basic information to help people understand what they needed and how to buy a plan.
I started blogging about travel insurance coverage, different plans, and different reasons you might need insurance. As visitor traffic and questions increased on the blog, I expanded the site to include company and policy reviews, tutorials, and articles.
About the company
The website operates as a virtual travel insurance agency. Instead of a staff of agents answering questions, this website was developed to help you understand travel insurance and to make a buying decision.
When you purchase travel insurance using a link on this site, a fee is paid by the insurance company…just like with a traditional insurance agent. We don’t issue the policy, but simply act as an agent by referring the business to the company.
The price you pay is not affected…the commission is paid by the insurance company and you will pay the same whether you purchase through this site or directly through the insurance company.
The company was founded in August, 2006, and is based in Hingham, Massachusetts (just south of Boston).
