The Good: This is comprehensive travel protection coverage for general trips and vacations with relatively high benefits limits. Automatically includes generous flight accident AD&D and rental car coverage. Pre-existing medical condition waiver is available if plan is purchased within 30 days of initial trip deposit. Travel assistance services gain the addition of nursing assistance for medical questions while traveling. Plan includes emergency medical coverage for traveling pets as well.

The Drawbacks: Optional upgrades must be purchased at the same time as the plan and within 30 days of initial trip deposit. Plan is only available to U.S. citizens and not all benefits are available to citizens of all U.S. States.

The Bottom Line: Providing full-featured benefits and high limits, this is a travel plan for those more expensive trips lasting up to 180 days. The plan includes some unique pet-friendly benefits too.

Plan Details

This plan is unique in that it provides the following:

Covered reasons for trip cancellation and interruption include bad weather, cancelled travel arrangements, terrorist acts in your departure city, job loss, and more.
Medical coverage is primary.
Travel delays and missed connection coverage is combined into one benefit, and if a delay of 3 hours or more results in a missed cruise, additional transportation expenses to join the departed cruise (up to $1,000) are covered.
If your trip is delayed 5 hours or more, the plan will reimburse Internet usage fees up to $25, airline club fees up to $25, and additional kennel expenses up to $25.
AD&D coverage within base plan includes an additional $50,000 in common carrier accident benefits.
Includes business property coverage up to $500 ($150 deductible applies) for theft, loss, or damage to professional business equipment.
Includes sporting equipment coverage up to $600 for stolen, damaged, or delayed sports equipment.
If a travel supplier cancels your covered trip, an additional $200 is available for reissue fees charged by the airlines or for the cost to return frequent flyer miles back to your account.
Includes up to $250 to transport a covered vehicle to your home if you are unable to drive.
Baggage delay benefits include an additional $25 to expedite your luggage return.
Includes up to $1,000 in pet medical expenses ($50 deductible applies) for sick or injured pets that accompany you on your trip.
Evacuation benefits also cover emergency medical reunion and return of minor children.
