Standard benefits include trip cancellation and interruption, delays and missed connections, lost or delayed baggage, and emergency medical protection. What is the coverage with Travel Basic?
Pre-departure trip cancellation
This coverage provides reimbursement for non-refundable trip payments and deposits if you must cancel your trip before it starts. This plan benefit provides trip cancellation coverage up to the trip cost for a maximum of $10,000.
Trip Interruption
This coverage provides reimbursement for non-refundable costs or deposits related to your trip if it is interrupted after it starts. This benefit provides interruption coverage up to the trip cost for a maximum of $10,000.
Trip Delay
This coverage provides reimbursement for means and accommodations related to your travel if it is delayed more than the defined number of hours in the policy, which in this case is 5 or more hours. The coverage provides a maximum of $500 to reimburse you for related expenses, including economy fare to return you on your originally scheduled itinerary. This benefit includes coverage for missed connections that cause a minimum of a 3-hour delay.
Baggage and personal effects loss or delay
This coverage provides reimbursement for lost, stolen, damaged or delayed baggage and personal effects up to $100 per day or a maximum of $500 if baggage is permanently lost or stolen. Luggage must be missing for a minimum of 12 hours.
Emergency Medical Assistance
This coverage provides emergency medical coverage if you become ill or are injured while traveling and need medical attention. This plan provides up to $15,000 in coverage for accidents and sickness that occur while on your trip.
Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation
This coverage provides reimbursement for the cost to transport you or other covered members of your party to a medical facility to receive care. This coverage also ensures repatriation or return of remains. This plan provides up to $100,000 in covered expenses.
Optional coverage includes the following three upgrades in one package:
Flight accidental death and dismemberment up to $200,000.
Rental Car Collision Protection
This coverage provides reimbursement to cover costs related to damage incurred while the rental car is in your possession. This plan provides up to $35,000 in expenses.

Optional upgrade for trip cancellation for any reason can be purchased if the plan is purchased within 21 days of the initial trip deposit.
