What is the coverage with WorldMed Insurance?

Emergency Medical Assistance (Accident and Sickness)
This coverage provides emergency medical coverage if you become ill or are injured while traveling and need medical attention. This is the only benefit where the plan limits are based on your choice of plan. All other benefit limits are the same for all three plans. This plan provides up to:

  • $500,000 (Plan A)
  • $1,000,000 (Plan B)
  • $100,000 in accident only for Lite, or $5,000 in sickness only for Lite

After the deductible is paid, the policy pays 80% of the first $5,000 for medical expenses incurred, then the policy pays 100% up to the plan maximum. For the Lite Plan, there is no co-insurance, so the plan pays 100% up to the policy maximum.

Emergency Medical Evacuation
This coverage provides reimbursement for the cost to transport you or other covered members of your party to a medical facility to receive care. This plan provides up to $100,000 in evacuation expenses.

Accidental death and dismemberment provides up to $25,000.

Emergency Medical Reunion
This coverage provides reimbursement for the cost of transporting one individual to the location where the injured is hospitalized.  This plan provides up to $10,000 in reimbursable expenses for a bedside visit to the insured.

Emergency Travelers Assistance
This coverage ensures you that a 24-hour support line is available in case of need to verify for hospital coverage, locate local medical assistance, arranging communication between patient and family and physicians, arrange medical transportation or evacuation or repatriation of remains, legal referrals, and much more. This is your support line for all this and more.

Loss of Baggage and personal effects
This coverage provides reimbursement for lost, stolen, or damaged baggage and personal effects up to $250, not to exceed $50 per article.

Trip Interruption
This coverage provides reimbursement for non-refundable costs or deposits related to your trip if it is interrupted after it starts. The plan will reimburse the insured for the cost of travel, minus the used portion. This benefit is limited to the cost of a one-way economy airfare or ground transportation and is subject to a maximum of $5,000 per confirmation.

Optional benefits include:
Hazardous activity coverage for motorcycling, scuba diving, snow and water skiing, mountain climbing, sky diving and many other fun, but potentially, hazardous adventure sports and activities you may decide to engage in on your trip.
