Every year, thousands of international students in the U.S. or abroad need emergency medical treatment and in almost all cases, the traveler is unprepared for the high costs involved. The Study USA Healthcare plan can provide illness and accident expense protection, help you find a doctor or hospital, and pay for treatment when you cannot. 

This coverage is available to international students registering in U.S. schools or to U.S. students studying outside their home country. Spouse and/or children under age 18 of the enrolled insured student may apply for insurance with the student within 31 days of birth, legal adoption, marriage, or arrival in the country of study. 

Covered persons have continuous coverage under this plan from one year to the next unless coverage is terminated by the insured. The total amount of benefits payable for any injury or illness cannot exceed the aggregate maximum for the plan.

You can choose from two student medical insurance plans. Depending on the coverage limits you prefer or the limit your school requires. Optional medical evacuation protection is provided at a low per person premium as well.

What is the coverage with Study USA-HealthCare?

Emergency Medical Assistance 
This coverage provides emergency medical coverage if you become ill or are injured while traveling and need medical attention. The plan provides up to $200,000 (Plan A) or $250,000 (Plan B) per injury or illness. This benefit uses a Multiplan approach to decrease the covered person’s out of pocket costs, but it is important to understand that this generates in-network and out-of-network coverage areas that you must be aware of. Emergency Medical Evacuation
This coverage provides reimbursement for the cost to transport you or other covered members of your party to a medical facility to receive care. This coverage also ensures repatriation or return of remains up to$30,000.

Accidental death and dismemberment provides up to $10,000 coverage.

Mental or nervous support and alcohol or substance abuse benefits
This coverage includes treatment for mental or nervous disorders and alcohol and substance abuse when confined as an inpatient or treated as an outpatient. The program pays the lesser of the usual, reasonable, and customary charges incurred for the first 30 days of confinement or 90% of the usual, reasonable, and customary charges incurred up to a limit of $5,000 ($10,000 for foreign students in the U.S.).

Repatriation of remains
This coverage provides benefits covering the expenses related to embalming, a minimally necessary container appropriate for transportation, shipping costs, and the necessary government authorizations to return the insured person’s remains to his or her home country in the event of death. This coverage provides up to $10,000.

Emergency Travelers Assistance
This coverage ensures you that a 24-hour support line is available in case of need to verify for hospital coverage, locate local medical assistance, arranging communication between patient and family and physicians, arrange medical transportation or evacuation or repatriation of remains, legal referrals, and much more. This is your support line for all this and more.
