The Savvy Traveler insurance plan is Travel Guard’s lowest priced travel insurance plan. It is ideal for experienced travelers who want to be assured that their primary travel expenses are covered while not worrying over too many extra frills.
It includes coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel delays, accident and sickness medical expenses and baggage and personal effects. Some reasons for cancellation include sickness , injury or death of an insured or traveling companion, unannounced strikes, inclement weather and home being made uninhabitable. Travel medical assistance and emergency travel assistance are included in this plan.

What coverage is included with Savvy Traveler?
Pre-departure Trip Cancellation
This benefit provides reimbursement for non-refundable trip payments and deposits up to a maximum of $15,000 if you must cancel your trip for covered reasons before it starts.
Post-departure Trip Interruption
This benefit provides reimbursement for non-refundable costs or deposits related to your trip if it is interrupted after it starts. This plan provides trip interruption coverage up to 100% of your trip cost.
Emergency Medical Transportation/Evacuation
This benefit pays up to $100,000 for the cost to transport you or your traveling companion to a medical facility to receive care in the case of sickness, injury, or death.
Trip Delay
This benefit provides reimbursement up to $100 a day to a maximum of $500 for additional expenses incurred for meals and lodging if your trip is delayed for more than 12 hours due to covered reasons.
Accident and Sickness Medical Expenses
This benefit provides emergency medical coverage up to $10,000 if you become ill or are injured while traveling and need medical attention. ($50 deductible applies)
Airline Delay
This benefit provides reimbursement up to $250 for essential items related to your trip and a one-way economy airfare ticket to rejoin the trip if your trip is delayed more than 12 hours due to your regularly scheduled airline flight being cancelled or delayed.
Baggage Delay
This benefit provides reimbursement up to $100 for essential items related to your trip if your luggage is delayed more than 24 hours.
Baggage and Personal Effects Loss
This benefit provides reimbursement up to $500 for lost, stolen, or damaged baggage and personal effects including lost travel documents. ($50 deductible applies)

Coverage for adventure sports activities is not included in this plan.
