I think that the only recourse is to contact the Better Business Bureau where travel Guard is located and file a complaint about their unethical treatment of customers. If everyone who has been cheated out of their refund would do this, it will look bad to people who might be tempted to purchase the insurance, and they will get a very low rating by the BBB. I plan to do this!

Bought coverage from TravelGuard for a replacement trip. Was hurt the year before and was insured by another company (CSA) who jerked us around and cheated us. When United failed to get us to our flight TravelGuard made alternative arrangements and agreed to pay for them without any BS. I then got a nasty infection and needed emergency care, which they arranged for, the provider was waithing for me when I arried, they paid thebills directly and were far better to deal with than the previous carrier.

After reading that so many others have had the same problem with this unethical company. I wonder if anyone knows of a recourse to get our rightful payments.

My denied claim is the WORST i have read on this site!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a trip to the AMAZON and paid extra for a cancel for any reason. my trip was insured at $6700.00.They turned me down because my full cost of trip was not insured. GET THIS my total cost was $6702.90. I other words I under insured my trip for a GRAND TOTAL OF $2.90 the CRAZY thing is, had I takin out the full, 7602.90 it would have not cost one penny more. What can a consumer do to fight such a rip off of a company? please help me bron1030@sbcglobal.net

Reading all the comments above certaily made me think twice before buying my insurance from them. We are getting ready for a trip next month to Asia. My travel agent recommended this company when I asked her to suggest a travel insurance. Since we are seniors, I want to protect our travel cost, airline tickets, etc. because anything can happen between now and on the date of our travel. Well, reading all those very negative comments (except for two people), I am amaze that they still exist. Why would travel agents suggest them if they are this bad? However, I am glad I read the reviews because now I won’t use them. Reading some other travel insurance reviews, I found one that has a lot more good reviews than bad. This is the Travel Shiled and Insure my trip.com (450+ reviews) which are both connected to American Express. I contacted them and the girl was very nice to explain what is best for me to buy. I am not interested in all the other extras that we don’t need, and my AARP Plan J health insurance will cover emergency medical and dental for two months of our travel. Good enough for me. Thanks to all the writers who wrote about their bad experiences with Travel Guard.

Don’t make the mistake of buying their insurance. I sent in all the required forms as did my doctor and they refused to pay my claim. What a sleazy company!!! Another example of a large company preying on naive people who assume that they will be honest.

This travel guard is scum! They loosing my file constantly, not answering e-mails. Dragging their feet. I have a pre-existing condition waver and they find the reason to reject the claim. Impossible to deal with. Lie-rs!!!
